PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the combustion stability of a spark ignition type engine to which alcohol-containing fuel is supplied, at the time of fuel recovery from deceleration fuel cutoff.SOLUTION: A PCM 50 cuts off fuel supply to the engine by an injector 11 during decelerating travel of a vehicle when predetermined fuel cutoff conditions are established, and resumes the fuel supply to the engine by the injector 11 when predetermined fuel recovery conditions are established in the state. When resuming the fuel supply, it controls a throttle valve actuator 22 to further increase the amount of intake air to be filled into cylinders in proportion as the concentration of alcohol in the fuel is higher and as a colder state is set up. |
