PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sense of localization of a sound image from a plurality of virtual sound sources by low-load processing.SOLUTION: A speaker arrangement unit 2 calculates angles &thetas;1, &thetas;2, &thetas;3, &thetas;4 between two virtual sound sources which are adjacent to each other in a direction along a circumference 7 as seen from a listener 4. The speaker arrangement unit 2 places virtual speakers 6a, 6b, 6c in a second range except a first range which, among ranges in the direction along the circumference 7, does not include a position sandwiched between the virtual sound sources together and above the direction of each virtual sound source as seen from the listener 4, at which position the calculated angle is greater than or equal to a threshold. A voice synthesis unit 3 distributes a sound signal from each virtual sound source to one or more virtual speakers selected for each of the virtual sound sources, and synthesizes left and right two-channel sound signals by using a head-related transfer function corresponding to the position of each virtual speaker. |
