An emergency operating arrangement (EOA) for at least one building technical (BTD) device L, such as a light, comprises a power supply unit PSU and an emergency supply unit ESU, both supplied by an electrical supply ES and configured to output a DC voltage, wherein the ESU is configured to detect an emergency situation or change in the electrical supply ES and in response output either a higher DC voltage or the same DC voltage as the PSU when a change in the electrical supply ES is not detected. Also provided is a BTD (figure 9) comprising an emergency converter that detects a DC voltage supplied to an input terminal and operates the BTD in an emergency operating mode when the detected DC voltage increases above a threshold value. The ESU may comprise a charging circuit, an energy storage component (BAT, figure 3) and an output converter (OC, figure 3) supplied from the energy storage component. The ESU may switch between the output of the output converter and the output of the PSU using a switch element SW1,SW2. The BTD may be connected to the EOA and/or the ESU through its input terminal or through separate supply channels (figure 8). |
