PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for intuitive grasp of a region being captured by a camera, when recording and reproducing a monitor image.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: a 3D model storage unit which stores a 3D model; an acquisition unit which acquires a taken image acquired by the camera and the imaging direction of the camera when acquiring the taken image; an image storage unit which stores the taken image and the imaging direction acquired by the acquisition unit, in association; a superimposing unit which determines the position, within the 3D model, of a view point on the 3D model in accordance with the position of a camera icon associated with the camera, generates a 2D projection image of the 3D model using the determined position of the view point and the imaging direction stored in the image storage unit, and superimposes the taken image stored in the image storage unit on a predetermined area of the 2D projection image to generate a superimposition image; and an output unit which outputs the superimposition image. |
