PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide power saving motor and hoist in which brake can be released during no-load.SOLUTION: A motor is configured so that a brake panel 20 is separated from an internal frame 11a by attracting it by means of a spring 22, during electrification of a coil 12a wound on a stator 12, and brake is released. A rotor 13 is configured to have a permanent magnet 31, and a control unit performs vector control so that a current being fed to the coil 12a is controlled while being decomposed into a d-axis current component, i.e., a current for excitation used by a stator 12 for generating magnetic flux, and a q-axis current component, i.e., a current for torque used for generating motor torque. The control unit is configured to obtain a brake release current by increasing the d-axis current component, when the current flowing through the coil 12a does not reach a brake release minimum current required for an attraction body 19 to attract the brake panel 20, during electrification of the coil 12a. |
