570,771. Doors. MECHANS, Ltd., and YOUNG, A. B. S. Feb. 11, 1944, No. 2535. [Class 20 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXV and XXXIII] In a ship's bulkhead or other watertight door C which is secured in the closed position by means of pivoted clips D turned by handles 1, 3 to bear on corresponding wedge pieces E, each clip is associated with a stopper arrangement which so limits its movement that it can be moved towards its wedge only in a downwardly rotating direction. In the form shown, a ring 4 with an upstanding pin 5 is welded to the door frame B around a watertight gland 2, whilst a co-operating washer 6 with radial projections 7 is fitted on to a squared portion of the spindle of the clip D. These allow the handles and clip a total rotation of 140 degrees, the locking position being 50 degrees inwards and downwards from the vertical. |
