The kerb structure 14 has first and second profile sections 20a, 20b for supporting the peripheral region of a glazing assembly 12 of a rooflight 10, the profile sections are separated by a cavity 22 that is filled with an insulating foam material 24 which bonds the two profiles together. The sections may have inwardly projecting L-shaped anchors 26, and may be joined to the glazing assembly by an adhesive 18. The profiles can be metallic, particularly aluminium, and may form internal and external sections. The insulating material acts as a thermal break and may be expandable foam which hardens to bind the two sections. Suitable insulating foams are expandable liquid polyurethane foam or expanding phenolic foam filler. Also disclosed is a method for assembling the kerb structure. |
