The meter has a measuring device including a transmitter, and a transmitter housing (6) formed as a composite part made from a plastic part (7) and a metal tube (1). A wall of the metal tube includes an opening, where the opening is enclosed by the plastic part. The plastic part partially covers a front surface of the metal tube originating from an inner wall (3.2) toward an outer wall (3.1) of the metal tube. A measuring chamber (9) for the transmitter of the measuring device is provided in the plastic part in a direction of the opening of the metal tube. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a transmitter housing for a water/heat meter.
