[Class 44] A bolt head 10, for a vehicle door, is shaped as shown to co-act with a member on the door frame, to form an anti - rattle device. The bolt head may engage any normal female dovetail, with or without an integral safety catch. The bolt 10 is secured to a plate 12, which is slidable against a spring 11. Levers 16 and 17, actuated by inner and outer door handles, co-act with bent-up portions of a pivoted lever 15, which has a projection 14 to engage a part 13 on the plate 12. A lever 18 may be rotated to lock the lever 17, i.e., the outside handle, against rotation. A female dovetail such as described in Specification 571,233 may be used. Alternatively, the door frame member may comprise two tapered blocks urged towards each other by springs. |
