The present invention relates to a mutant strain of Pichia stipitis, and to a method for producing bioethanol using the same. Provided is the mutant strain, which can produce bioethanol by having pulp wastewater as a carbon source. Provided in the present invention is the mutant strain having the resistance with respect to a fermentation inhibiting factor included in the pulp wastewater.
