PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactive power compensator which can be made compact.SOLUTION: A reactive power compensator is a power factor constant control system for outputting a reactive power to a power system in order to stabilize the system voltage of a power system. The reactive power compensator sets an effective power upper limit and an effective power lower limit above and below the load effective power of the power system, and also sets a dead band DZ having the effective power upper limit as an upper limit and the effective power lower limit as a lower limit, and does not perform power factor constant control when the load effective power is within the dead band DZ. Consequently, maximum reactive power is suppressed, and thereby the compensation capacity CC can be suppressed. Since the compensation capacity CC, i.e., the inverter capacity can be reduced, the reactive power compensator can be made compact. |
