572,916. Turbine blades. ARMSTRONG SIDDELEY-MOTORS, Ltd., and HEPPNER, F.A.M. April 18, 1944, No. 7142. Drawings to Specification. [Class 110 (iii)] Turbine blades, or like projections, secured in or upon a rotor by inter-engaging spiral threads, as described in U.S.A. Specification 2,240,742, are so assembled that they abut against one another with a circumferential pressure of the order of five to twenty tons per square inch. This may be achieved by positioning the blades whilst the enveloping member is at a substantially higher temperature than the enveloped member. |
