Parametric pendulum wave energy converter

A wave energy converter for capturing wave energy comprises an anchored or floating ramp. A buoy, may move along the ramps when acted on by the incident motion of waves and an n pendulum is mounted inside the buoy. The buoys motion along the ramp provides a parametric excitation to the pendulum that rotates around its pivot point. The other side of the pendulum shaft is connected to a device which converts the rotational motion to electricity. The pendulum has a plurality of arms which have a mass located at the end of the arm. The arms and the mass may be made of metal. A flywheel may be provided on the shaft to increase the inertia of the system. Limiters or stops may be provided to prevent the buoy coming off the ramp. The buoy may be guided by two rails located on the ramp, Fig 2.
