Provided is a control device for a vehicle. The control device is capable of effectively performing idling stop in the case that the time of deceleration is added to the permissive condition and idling stop is allowed. The control device, allowing idling stop (stop I/S) of the vehicle when a first permissive condition comprising the stop of the vehicle is satisfied, is used for determining whether a second permissive condition that the vehicle can decelerate at below the specified vehicle speed is satisfied or not. When the second permissive condition is satisfied, an engine is allowed to perform idling stop (deceleration I/S). Furthermore, when the second permissive condition and the first permissive condition are satisfied by determination, moving determinations of the vehicle based on forward side pulse/retreating side pulse are enabled to made. For instance, at I/S of stopping, a determination is made by means of pulse at forward side pulse/retreating side. At I/S of deceleration, the determination is not made by means of retreating side pulse until the vehicle is stopped. (S300 to S310). |
