The present invention relates to a liquid crystal device, a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device, and the use of a liquid crystal device. The liquid crystal device of the present invention can maintain the vertical orientation of a liquid crystal in a state in which an external action is not applied, can maintain an appropriate cell gap, and has high adhesion between upper and lower substrates, thereby being realized as a flexible device and advantageously applied to a roll-to-roll process after manufacture. The liquid crystal device can be applied to various light modulation devices such as a smart window, a window shield, a flexible display device, a 3D image display active retarder, and a viewing angle control film. The liquid crystal device comprises the upper substrate, the lower substrate, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the upper and lower substrates. |
