The present invention relates to an air cleaning and humidification method using a cyclone principle. The method according to the present invention includes: a swirling flow generation process in which a swirling flow is generated while air to be purified is supplied into an air purification and humidification container having a cylindrical cross section and a predetermined height; a water supply process in which water injection or scattering is performed in the swirling flow-formed air purification and humidification container; and a discharge process in which water particles injected or scattered in the container in the water supply process rotate along the swirling flow for foreign matter in the air to be filtered and the filtered air is humidified to be discharged through an outlet formed in an upper end portion of the air purification and humidification container. Preferably, the swirling flow generation process and the water supply process are performed at the same time. The swirling flow generation process is performed by the air passed through a filter by a blower fan being supplied into the air purification and humidification container from a position eccentric with respect to an upper portion of the air purification and humidification container.
