The present invention relates to a system and a method for evaluating taekwondo technical motions using motion recognition. The system for evaluating taekwondo technical motions using motion recognition comprises: an evaluation aid provided in each taekwondo studio; a network connected to the evaluation aid through wired or wireless connection; and a server connected to the network through wired or wireless connection. The evaluation aid may comprise: a detection unit filming technical motions of a person to be evaluated; a conversion unit converting a signal inputted from the detection unit into data; an evaluation unit comparing the converted data with standard technical motions and digitizing the degree of identicalness by each section and each technical motion; an output unit outputting a video filmed by the detection unit and the result data from the evaluation unit; and a transmission unit coding the data outputted from the output unit and transmitting the data to the server through the network.
