PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely estimate the number of sheets on a discharge tray and accurately detect that the upper loading limit is reached, by reviewing the clearing and subtraction of a discharge count value indicating the number of printed sheets discharged to the discharge tray.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes: a discharge tray; a printing part for performing printing on a sheet and discharging the sheet to the discharge tray; a human detection part for detecting the presence of a human; and a processing part for integrating a discharge count value in response to the sheet discharge to the discharge tray, detecting that printed sheets are loaded on the discharge tray until the upper loading limit is reached on the basis of the fact that the discharge count value has reached a prescribed upper limit, and clearing or decreasing the discharge count value in response to the detection of the presence of a human on the basis of the output of the human detection part. |
