An optical-fiber affixing structure equipped with a cylindrical member, an optical fiber that passes through a hole in the cylindrical member, and an affixing material for adhering the cylindrical member and the optical fiber to one another, wherein: the optical fiber is a polarized wave-holding optical fiber having an axis of polarization; the center of the optical fiber is positioned eccentrically relative to the center of the hole; and the angle formed between the axis of polarization and the direction of eccentricity between the center of the hole and the center of the optical fiber is -22.5° to 22.5°, inclusive, or 67.5° to 112.5°, inclusive.
