PURPOSE:To improve missing dots, uniformity inferiority and line cutting by setting the number of protruding parts whose height is a predetermined value or more of the inorg. fine powder protruding from the flat surface of the surface layer of the support of a thermal recording material per a unit area to a predetermined number or less. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is formed by providing a thermal color forming layer to the single surface of a support 1 composed of synthetic paper having a double-layer structure and further providing an overcoat layer thereto if necessary. The support pref. consists of a surface layer C composed of a thermoplastic resin film containing 0-3wt.% of an inorg. fine powder, a paper-like layer B composed of the film containing 8-65wt.% of the inorg. fine powder and a base material layer A composed of the film containing 0-5wt.% of the inorg. fine powder. Herein, the number of the protruding parts 8 whose apexes 9 have height of 5mum or more of the powder 6 protruding from the flat surface of the surface layer C is set to 50 or less per 0.1m<2> of a base material. |
