摘要 Provided is a gasification and combustion method for material to be combusted that can significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The present invention is a gasification and combustion method for material to be combusted using a primary combustion furnace (10) and is characterized: by including a step of regulating the initial temperature inside the primary combustion furnace (10) to be at least 800°C, a step of supplying into the primary combustion furnace (10) that is at least 800°C oxygen or a gas containing oxygen in an amount that is less than the theoretical amount for complete combustion of the material to be combusted, and a step of generating unburned gas by way of supplying the material to be combusted into the primary combustion furnace (10) that is at least 800°C and then thermally decomposing the material to be combusted and generating soot through incomplete combustion; and in that the supply of oxygen or the gas containing oxygen is performed continuously or intermittently while the pressure is reduced by forcibly evacuating the interior of the primary combustion furnace (10), thereby generating unburned gas and soot at 1000°C or higher and further thermally decomposing and reducing at least a portion of the non-volatile component generated by thermal decomposition of the material to be combusted.
