The present disclosure relates to a cooling system (100) for an internal combustion engine (102) including a cylinder unit (114). The cooling system (100) comprises a cooling circuit portion (104) configured to circulate a flow of coolant. The cooling circuit portion (104) includes a cooling circuit portion outlet (118) and a cooling circuit portion inlet (120). The cooling circuit portion outlet (118) and the cooling circuit portion inlet (120) define a flow direction of coolant within the cooling circuit portion (104) from the cooling circuit portion inlet (120) to the cooling circuit portion outlet (118). The cooling system (100) further comprises a charge air cooler (106) configured to transfer heat from charge air to the coolant. The charge air cooler (106) includes a first charge air cooler port (130) and a second charge air cooler port (132). The cooling system (100) further comprises a cylinder cooling jacket (108) configured to transfer heat from the cylinder unit (114) to the coolant. The cylinder cooling jacket (108) includes a cylinder cooling jacket inlet (148) and a cylinder cooling jacket outlet (150). In a first cooling configuration of the cooling system (100), the cooling circuit portion outlet (118) is connected to the first charge air cooler port (130), the second charge air cooler port (132) is connected to the cylinder cooling jacket inlet (148), and the cylinder cooling jacket outlet (150) is connected to the cooling circuit portion inlet (120). In a second cooling configuration of the cooling system (100), the cooling circuit portion outlet (118) is connected to the cylinder cooling jacket inlet (148), the cylinder cooling jacket outlet (150) is connected to the second charge air cooler port (132), and the first charge air cooler port (130) is connected to the cooling circuit portion inlet (120). |
