PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enables power saving, can shorten time between an instruction of a printing start and a sufficient increase in a heater temperature and prevents paper heating time from being long.SOLUTION: When a glossy paper or cardboard sheet is received by a paper feeder 71, on-off control of a heater 97 is started, and the temperature j1 of the heater 97 detected by a first temperature sensor 98 is adjusted and maintained at a first target temperature J1. After that, a temperature j2 detected by a second temperature sensor 99 is calculated as an atmospheric temperature when the paper feeder 71 is selected as a supply source of a recording paper sheet, a second target temperature J2 is set on the basis of the atmospheric temperature, air spray over a paper sheet bundle is started from each air outlet 96 of an exhaust air duct 86, the heater 97 is subjected to on-off control, the air temperature j2 detected by the second temperature sensor 99 is adjusted and set at the second target temperature J2, and each paper sheet conveyance belt 81 starts to extract and convey the recording paper sheet. |
