The invention relates to a system for adjusting a steering column (10) of a motor vehicle, height-wise and depth-wise, arranged below an instrument panel, and comprising: a steering column comprising a cylindrical tube (11) supporting, at a high end (13), a steering wheel; a device (15) for controlling the movement of the tube (11) of the column, authorising the movement of the column along a trajectory; and a device (14) for locking the column tube in position, comprising a system (24) for guiding the column tube, authorising the sliding of said tube (11) along the longitudinal axis of the tube, characterised in that the guiding system (24) is suitable for pivoting about a guiding shaft (33) secured to an element of the instrument panel of the vehicle. |
