[Class 113 (ii)] A motor target or like boat, with a V-bottom 14, 15 and hard chines 10, comprises a cellular framework composed of transverse bulkheads 1 ... 4 extending from side to side of the boat, a transom 5, an even number of longitudinal bulkheads 6, 7, a stem 8, a keel 9 and gunwales 11, to which is secured a skin and deck 16, the engine 17, fuel tank 18, battery 19, and radio control gear 20 being arranged in cells of the middle row provided with removable covering means 24 allowing access to such driving and controlling equipment, and all the remaining cells being permanently closed to constitute buoyancy compartments. The bulkheads may be secured together by slotting and securing strips 23 in the corners. The buoyancy compartments may contain sponge rubber 22, aerated rubber, ping-pong balls, or like cellular material immediately below the deck. The sides 12, 13 and the bottom 14, 15 are covered with sheets of plywood, each sheet covering one. or more cells. A rearwardly directed cowl 25 provides air for the engine 17. |
