摘要 The present invention relates to a polymerization method of vinyl monomers using atom transfer radical polymerization, which controls radical polymerization of vinyl monomers having a difficulty in controlling leaving radical polymerization through atomic transfer radical polymerization using a metal catalyst, and controls molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. The polymerization method of vinyl monomers using atom transfer radical polymerization according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) mixing an atomic transfer initiator, a metal complex catalyst and a co-catalyst with a halogen-free solvent; (b) further introducing azobisisobutyronitrile and a vinyl monomer, followed by agitation; and (c) heating the mixture obtained by mixing an atomic transfer initiator, a metal complex catalyst and a co-catalyst with a halogen-free solvent and further introducing azobisisobutyronitrile and a vinyl monomer thereto to a temperature of 50-70C to carry out polymerization. In the method, the metal complex catalyst comprises a transition metal including any one selected from ruthenium, iron, nickel, rhenium and copper and a ligand, and the co-catalyst comprises an amine compound or Lewis acid.
