Provided is a mechanical pencil, which is able to improve ease of use during lead replenishment and also has an excellent design. The mechanical pencil is provided with a shaft (1) that configures the outer wall, an inner tube obtained from a cam-forming member (15) that is housed inside said shaft so as to be rotatable around the axis, and an operation part (16) capable of rotating the inner tube. In the side surfaces of the shaft (1) and the inner tube (15), lead replenishment windows (1a, 15a) that are long in the axial direction are respectively formed and are configured so that in a specific rotation position of the inner tube with respect to the shaft that results from the operation of the operation part (16), the respective replenishment windows (1a, 15a) communicate with each other and a lead replenishment port (18) is opened as a result of the respective communicating replenishment windows. |
