In order to provide an improved expansion module, the expansion module (2, 3) can independently determine whether the switched position of the first and second switching elements (8, 9) is correct as expected, wherein the expansion module (2, 3) is designed so that a switching signal received by the base module (1) for closing the first and second switching elements (8, 9) is only implemented if the switched position of the first and second switching elements (8, 9) is correct as expected. |
