[Classes 75 (i) and 75 (iv)] The vaporizing tube B and mantle D of a vapour lamp are housed between upper and lower annular parabolic reflectors G, J in a chamber 'formed by a cylindrical glass H' mounted on a gallery H on vertical supports E secured to the fuel reservoir A. A cowl F carrying a cap F<2> rests by bosses F' on the reflector G and is clamped in position by pivoted hooks L to which a bail L' is pivoted. Air entering between the cowl F and reflector G passes through radial passages K to a mixing chamber C to mix with the vapour discharged from the tube B before combustion at the mantle D. Additional air passes to the flame through the central opening in the reflector J. The combustion products escape through a tubular passage G<2> formed integrally with the reflector G. A clip carrying asbestos packing impregnated with alcohol may be secured to the tube B above a control valve B<1> to heat the tube B at starting. The rims of the reflectors engaging the glass H<1> may be silvered to act as additional reflectors. The glass H<1> may be formed in two segments having the same or different surface finishes.</p> |
