PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic fiber flat cord for reinforcing rubber, which has high strength and superior fatigue resistance, and can reduce a weight of a rubber product such as a tire, a belt and a hose by thinning a wall thickness of a fiber reinforcing layer, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The organic fiber flat cord comprises an organic fiber multifilament. A total fineness of the organic fiber multifilament is 100-10,000 dtex. The organic fiber flat cord is a cord which is produced by: preparing a twisted yarn cord obtained by twisting the organic fiber multifilaments, or a twisted yarn cord obtained by primarily twisting the organic fiber multifilaments, then doubling the plurality of organic fiber multifilaments, and secondly twisting the resultant multifilaments; and depositing a resorcinol-formalin-latex adhesive agent on the twisted yarn cord so that 1-4% of the adhesive agent is deposited based on the weight of the twisted yarn cord. A flatness ratio (A/B) of a major axis A to a minor axis B in a flat cross section of the twisted yarn cord is 1.5 or more. |
