The separating segment (8) comprises a multi-layered segment body (12) with a diamond particle in a carrier material, where the separating segment has a formation suited for capacitor discharge welding. The segment body contains the diamond particle at its foot area provided for welding, and has different carrier materials. The separating segment has tooth-like margins and a bevel and/or a recess on a side wall (15), is formed for an alternative connection with a base body (4) of a separation tool (1) using capacitor discharge welding or soldering process, and consists of sintered material. Independent claims are included for: (1) a separation tool; and (2) a method for producing a separation tool.
