The post support 1 comprises a post receiving clamp section 5 comprising first and second clamp parts 7, 9 each defining surfaces 11, 31 shaped for engaging the post, clamping means 8, 10 for connecting the first and second clamp parts and increasing or decreasing the engagement between the surfaces, and a clamp housing 50 having a stop 99, 101 to prevent the clamp being removed from the housing. The clamp parts may be retained together on one side of the clamp section by C-shaped brackets 25a, 25b, 25c on one part engaging L-shaped protrusions 45a, 45b, 45c on the other, and connected by the clamping means on the other side. The clamping means may comprise flanges 21, 41 on each clamp part with cooperating apertures 23, 43 through which adjustable connectors extend. The stop may include formations over the clamping means and flanges. Also claimed are combinations of the support and a bench, and the support and a post. |
