Provided is a novel copper powder which generates little gas in firing a paste and which can ensure reduction in the occurrence of blistering or cracking. A copper powder characterized in that: the carbon content of the powder is 20 to 60ppm; and in energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX analysis), the carbon/copper proportion (1), (PC1×100/PCu1), is less than 60%, wherein PC1 is the average intensity of carbon peaks detected in voids present inside particles, and PCu1 is the average intensity of copper peaks detected in the voids. |
