PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device and an information providing method that can enhance precision of specification of a destination when information associated with the destination is input.SOLUTION: A query generation device 1 includes: an input part 11 which receives input sentence information 21 including first place name information 121 associated with features of a destination from a client application 2 and position information 22 associated with the position of the destination; a first place name extraction part 12 which extracts first place name information 121 from the input sentence information 21; a second place name generation part 14 which narrows down candidates for the destination that the first place name information 121 designates based upon the position information 22 so as to acquire second place name information 142; and a query generation part 15 which transmits query information 161 including the second place name information 142 and position information 22 to a content server so that the client application 2 can receive plate name information 311 capable of specifying the destination. |
