The present invention relates to a light emitting device driving apparatus controlling a plurality of light emitting device arrays which is connected in series. The light emitting device comprises: a rectifying unit which outputs a rectifying signal by rectifying an AC signal; and a controlling unit which senses a level of the rectifying signal, compares the level of the sensed rectifying signal with a reference voltage, and connects a first group among the light emitting device arrays and a second group among the light emitting device arrays in series or parallel based on a comparison result. The controlling unit successively drives the light emitting device arrays of the first and second groups connected in parallel, or the light emitting device arrays of the first and second groups connected in series based on the level of the sensed rectifying signal.
