Method for ground fault detection during operation of a converter

The method involves switching a measuring resistor (14) according to earth and based on a connection point (P3) of capacitors (16, 17). A determination is made whether a ground fault is present based on measuring voltage dropping at the resistor. Switches of a power converter (11) are actuated such that same potential is present at alternating current (AC)-side ports (P1, P2) of the converter, and potential is changed from one value to another value. A determination is made whether a potential gradient of the voltage is changed based on the switchover of the values based on a target course. An independent claim is also included for an electric circuit.
