In the present invention, there is disclosed a device for making fabric of defined thickness by folding a flat fabric to folds, the device comprising a group of profiling disks (71) arranged on a first working shaft (41) and a group of profiling disks (72) arranged on a second working shaft (42), which is parallel to said first working shaft (41). Each profiling disk (71, 72) is provided on its circumference with a system of working projections (81, 82) and working gaps (91, 92). The profiling disks (71) mounted on the first working shaft (41) are arranged opposite of the profiling disks (72) mounted on the second working shaft (42). The working projections (81) of the profiling disks (71) mounted on the first working shaft (41) protrude at least partially into the working gaps (92) of the profiling disks (72) mounted on the second working shaft (42) and vice versa.
