The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for preventing, improving, or treating epilepsy containing a human ventralis telencephalon-derived neural stem cell as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, a human ventralis telencephalon-derived neural stem cell has differentiation potency into a neuron, an oligodendrocyte, an astrocyte, or a GABAergic neuron. According to the present invention, the human ventralis telencephalon-derived neural stem cell is differentiated into a GABAergic neuron in a position into which the stem cell is injected, and expression of GABA and a GABA synthetic enzyme is increased, thereby having an anticonvulsant effect to eventually prevent, treat, and improve epilepsy. |
