PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a structure by which adjustment smoothness is ensured for adjusting a height position of a steering wheel to improve operation feeling of an adjustment lever, and occurrence of collision of metal parts between front and rear side edges of a vertical direction long hole and front and rear side edges of an engagement projection part is suppressed.SOLUTION: In a tilt type steering device, low rigidity parts 66 and 66 in which rigidity is lowered by having through-holes 67 and 67 therein are arranged at front and rear ends of both cushioning parts 41c and 41c constituting a cushioning member 21c. The low rigidity parts 66 and 66 are protruded in a longitudinal direction rather than front and rear side surfaces of an engagement projection 39c. In a neutral state that turning force is not applied from a drive side cam to a cam to be driven in a direction where axial dimension of a cam device is expanded, only the low rigidity parts 66 and 66 are elastically contacted with front and rear side edges 68 and 69 of a vertical direction long hole 35b without causing the front and rear side surfaces of the engagement projection 39c to contact with the front and rear side edges 68 and 69. |
