The measuring insert (4) is intended for a flowmeter (1) for the sound-based recording of a flow quantity of a liquid or gaseous medium. It has a main section (7) with a hollow flow part and a base part connected thereto in one piece, wherein the flow part and the base part extend over a main section length in a longitudinal direction (3), the flow part sits on the base part, and the base part comprises a metal or ceramic reflection element which extends over the main section length in the longitudinal direction (3). The reflection element is encased all over, namely embedded in another material, for example a plastic material, perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (3) in the main section (7). The measuring insert (4) also has at least one edge section (9) which is connected to the main section (7) in one piece on a first axial end face, wherein the reflection element extends into the edge section (9) starting from the main section (7), and the reflection element forms a sound reflector (11) for a sound signal (16) in the edge section (9). |
