The present invention relates to a data backup system for a black box and a method for the same and, more specifically, to a data backup system for a black box and a method for the same capable of wirelessly connecting a smart device with a black box and easily and conveniently managing an important video stored in the black box using the smart device. In addition, the present invention provides a black box comprising a memory unit which stores a plurality of image data, a wireless communications unit which connects with the smart device for bidirectional wireless communications, and a control unit which receives a control command from the smart device through the wireless communications unit to perform deleting, transferring, and playing of the image data when memory space of the memory unit is not sufficient. Accordingly, easy and convenient management of the image data of the black box can be achieved using various types of smart devices which a driver possesses. In addition, according to the present invention, since the memory space of the black box is monitored and a warning message informing shortage of the memory space is transmitted to the smart device, the driver can check the shortage of the memory space of the black box, back up the important image(s), and delete unnecessary images before an important image is lost. |
