A roller transfer mechanism 1 features relatively long rollers 14, directed in a first direction, and relatively short rollers 30b, directed in a second direction. The sets of rollers 14, 30b can be vertically displaced relative to each other, in order to transfer items 25 between a first, relatively narrow, conveyor 21, and second, relatively broad, conveyor 24. The apparatus 1 may overcome, by using two sets of rollers, a previous technical issue of a transfer mechanism with one set of rollers, and one set of belts, in which the belts would overturn. |
