PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search device which can perform similarity search after a result of search is presented, a search method, a navigation device provided with the search device, and a portable information terminal.SOLUTION: A search device is provided with a similarity search determination part which determines whether or not similarity search is possible with attributes related to attributes associated with a keyword with which search has been performed, presents, together with a search result, that similarity search is possible when it is determined that the similarity search is possible, and when an instruction of similarity search is given by a user, performs search by attributes available for the similarity search and search means corresponding to the attributes. Thus, after the result of search is presented, similarity search can be performed by an initial search keyword as it is and further, by the same attribute as the search keyword, so that time and labor in redoing character input can be reduced, and a desired result of search can be efficiently obtained. |
