PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict occurrences of wrinkles in the ends of a narrow sheet when the sheet is conveyed by a transfer roller.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier (photoreceptor drum 42A) configured to carry a developer image thereon; and a transfer roller 43B configured to transfer the developer image on the image carrier onto a sheet. In the transfer roller 43B, both its ends (shaft portions B2) in its axial direction are pressed toward the image carrier. The transfer roller 43B is formed such that a vertical cross-sectional shape of its surface has a shape (protruding shape B12) protruding radially outside with respect to a basic shape B11 which has a secondary curved shape and such that the amounts by which the cross-sectional shapes protrude most with respect to the basic shape B11 in positions corresponding to both ends S11 and S12 of a second sheet (envelope S1), narrower than a first sheet, in the width direction. |
