摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an olefin polymerization catalyst which is excellent in process aptitude for slurry polymerization and enables a polyolefin having high quality product properties to be produced.SOLUTION: An olefin polymerization catalyst contains (A) a modified clay mineral obtained from a particulate clay mineral formed by spray drying a contact object of a clay mineral and a surfactant, (B) a transition metal compound represented by general formula (1) or (2) (wherein M is a titanium atom, a zirconium atom or a hafnium atom; Cpand Cpeach independently represent a cyclopentadienyl group, an indenyl group, a fluorenyl group or a derivative substitution thereof; Xand Xeach independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a 1-20C hydrocarbon group; and Q represents a specific crosslinking group), and (C) a tri(alkyl)aluminum compound.
