PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain tensioner of an engine capable of changing a projection quantity of a plunger with good responsiveness.SOLUTION: A chain tensioner is provided with a discharge amount variable mechanism 35 which can change a discharge amount of oil discharged from a discharge path 35 to the outside, depending on hydraulic pressure from an oil gallery 2 of an engine 1. By the constitution, a projection quantity of a plunger 26 of the chain tensioner can be changed in view of the hydraulic pressure of the supplied oil, so that change of the projection quantity of the plunger 26 is performed with good responsiveness. |
