PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can obtain a hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle in which coagulation of the hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle from a dispersion liquid including the hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle obtained in a state being dispersed in a mixed solvent can be performed by a few and a small capacity reactor, and that excels in fluidity without being strongly agglomerated.SOLUTION: When an inorganic oxide particle obtained by a sol-gel method in which an metal alkoxide is made a raw material is contacted with silicone oil and at least one surface treatment agent chosen from a group consisting of a silane coupling agent and a silazane in a mixed solvent of water and an organic solvent without being separated from a reaction liquid to obtain a hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle, a coagulating agent consisting of an organic acid or a salt thereof is added in a dispersion liquid including the hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle to coagulate the hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle, then to separate and dry the hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle to obtain the hydrophobicized inorganic oxide particle. |
