A gas turbine engine intake duct 30 has an internal duct surface 54 comprising a main region 60 having a particular finish and a secondary region 62 having a different finish. The intake duct is formed with an inlet duct 36 which bifurcates into a core duct 38 and a scavenge duct 40. The intake duct follows a convoluted and substantially U-shaped path from an upstream location 32 to a downstream location 34. An particles or debris entering the intake duct are bounced off the internal surfaces which have differing surface finishes and coefficients of restitution to allow the particles to be deflected and exit via the scavenge duct. |
