PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording device capable of minimizing useless feeding until an ink ribbon is stopped while securing feeding of a paper sheet and an ink ribbon at a certain degree to cool a printing portion of the ink ribbon after finishing printing.SOLUTION: A thermal transfer recording device comprises a thermal head 20 pressing a paper sheet and an ink ribbon on a platen 13, thermally transferring ink from the ink ribbon to the paper sheet according to printing data and performing printing, releases pressing of the thermal head 20 on the platen 13 and stops feeding of the ink ribbon. The thermal transfer recording device includes timing control means controlling a timing (t1) for starting release of the pressing of the thermal head 20 on the platen 13 on the basis of printing speed so that the paper sheet and ink ribbon are fed by a prescribed distance Lset from finishing of printing (t0) up to the completion of the release(t2) of the pressing of the thermal head 20 on the platen 13. |
