PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce erroneous input when an external numeric input keyboard is used.SOLUTION: A multifunction machine comprises: a display control unit which selectively displays, on an operation panel, a plurality of operation screens classified into a telephone type and a pocket calculator type, in accordance with the operation; a conversion mode switching unit which, when the displayed operation screen is a telephone type, sets a telephone type mode as a character code conversion mode, and when the displayed operation screen is a pocket calculator type, sets a pocket calculator type mode, while an external hardware keyboard having numeric keys vertically and horizontally arranged is connected; and a character code conversion unit which, in the telephone type mode, performs character code conversion corresponding to the telephone type numeric key layout and, in the pocket calculator type mode, performs character code conversion corresponding to the pocket calculator type numeric key layout. |
